If there are unavailable items on your list, you will be notified with a pop-up message once you open that list. You may choose to either select alternate formats, remove all unavailable items on that list, or to be reminded later. If you choose Remind Me Later, you will not see another Unavailable Items pop-up for that particular list while you remain logged into Mackin.com. The next time you log in, or if you view another list with unavailable items on it, you should see this message again until you no longer have unavailable items on your list.
If you have unavailable items on your list, there will also be a message at the top of the screen under List Detail. Click the Select Alternate Formats link to remove the unavailable item and/or to select alternate formats, if available.
If you attempt to order a list with unavailable items on it, a pop-up window will appear giving you three options. You may choose to select alternate formats, remove all unavailable items from your list, or allow Mackin to select alternates. After you complete one of these steps, you will be taken to the order wizard.
If you select “Allow Mackin to select alternates,” Mackin’s order entry staff will select the same book in an alternate binding or a revised edition of the same book. If we have your binding preference on file, we will use that to determine the next best binding to send to you. If we do not have a binding preference on file, we would send the next available binding, never moving to a higher-priced item without instruction. We may contact you with a question if needed.
